Thanks again - looks like a limitation of PM so I won't bother looking for a solution any more but will change the way I enter notes and lyrics for future.Ĭurrently it is Monday, 11:41 AM (GMT -5) See Copy and pasted lyrics revise the original verse for details. PM04 was OK and it was fixed in later versions. OK, I found the previous discussion - it looks like that was a problem with PM06. I also copied the line by CTRL+click, Again, no change. Changing notes or lyrics in any line had no effect on the others. I entered a soprano line with lyrics, and dragged it to the other staves. Interestingly enough, the PM manual index still lists "Copy lyrics", but that section doesn't exist in the text. Whenever I click on the Staff Tool and select the very first staff and click Delete Staff, it deletes the first staff/vocal line throughout the entire song. I don't have my old versions installed on my new computer, so I can't check this. This behaviour was not consistent, sometimes you got a copy and sometimes a clone for no reason that we could identify - maybe that's why they took it out. Especially if you did something like copying one set of lyrics to a second verse that was similar to the first, changed them for the second verse and then found that your first verse had also been altered. The problem was that when you copied lyrics, it was actually just dsplaying the same lyrics in different places, so when you edited them in one place it altered them everywhere - if you weren't expecting this it was rather annoying. Mike, is this something that's disappeared in the newer versions of PM ? I see that it's not in PM10 or 11, but I can remember Jeannie and I having a long discussion about it some years ago, so it must have been possible then. You can also hide repeat endings from all but the top staff by with the Repeat menu. "As a musician, he's a damn fine woodworker." Derrek's idea is best: Enter one line, with the lyrics, Copy it to the other four voices, and use the repitch tool.
